Today is "Earth Day", a day for us to reflect on and get involved in activities that will benefit our Earth. Our environment is fragile and needs our gentle care. We are all connected ~ to each other ~ and to our Earth. There are so many things we can do...Reduce/Reuse/Recycle...use compact flourescent light bulbs...drive less often by using public transportation, walking, or riding a bike...GO ORGANIC! Buy local and organic food.
I am a member of Vernon County Freecycle. "Freecycle" is a grassroots nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer. Membership is free. Check out their website and find a group in your town! http://www.freecycle.org/

One way I am going to support our Earth today is to "shop green" on Etsy. I love Etsy!!! There are so many talented artists, so much inspiration! Etsy has begun a series of articles in their Storque e-newsletter called "Earth Tones" which will feature artists that reuse/recyle materials in their artwork or that make eco-friendly products. Here are a few of the goodies I have found so far. I will post tomorrow about what I bought!
